Abstract
Just across the street from the Rhodes College campus is a major urban park. Why is it here? What historical political and cultural forces have intersected in this place over the last century? How has the park itself been shaped by the power of rhetoric? This section of the writing course explores the idea of the urban park from its European origins to its 21st century controversies.
