Abstract
Biology 130 is a team-taught course, in which three faculty members serve as your professors.
The approach offers a number of advantages to you as a student. Among these are: 1) each of
the biological sub-disciplines in this course will be represented by a professor who has a special
depth of experience and understanding in that area based upon a strong, ongoing program of
scholarly contributions in the field; and 2) this allows you to meet a wider range of biology faculty
members and to more quickly become acquainted with a variety of lecturing and testing
styles in science. We believe that your experience with this format will improve your depth of
knowledge in the subject, provide you a more stimulating learning environment, and help you
make more informed future course selections if you continue to study biology.
