Abstract
This stonecut print depicts a man wearing a coat with a hood and fringe at the bottom, laced up boots, and thick gloves. On his cheeks are two circles. He is holding a knife and has a very serious facial expression. Facing him with an expression of fear is a small animal that resembles a fox. The animal's back foot is caught in a trap. Above the man and the animal is a curved black shape that gives the impression of a cave. They are standing on a similar black shape that has white letters on it. The image is held by a silver frame. This print was created by an Inuit artist named Joansialuk in the Cape Dorset area and it dates from 1962.
