Abstract
This image is from a collection created by Etta Hanson and given to the College in 1954. All items are from Otto Ege's estate. The leaf was contained and mounted in a matte created by Otto Ege, as are all other leaves in this collection. There is a typed description at the bottom of the matte, which reads: "The first Bible from the famous press of Nicholas Jenson, the French printer from whose Venetian press cam nearly a hundred of the finest books produced in the fifteenth century. When Jenson issued a second edition of the Latin Bible, in 1479 Pope Sixtus IV conferred upon him the honorary title of Count Palatine. (Hain 3061) (Copinger 28)"
