Abstract
COURSE STATEMENT This course is intended to be an introduction to the methods and theories of anthropological archaeology. This course will also explore current explanations and available data on two classic problem foci of archaeology: the origins of plant and animal domestication and settled life in the Old and the New World, and the origins of early states and urban centers in such areas of the world as Egypt, Mesopotamia, Mexico and South America.
