Abstract
The Robert Church Park was laid out by Robert R. Church in 1899. It is located at 391 Beale Street south of downtown Memphis. Robert Reed Church was a successful African-American entrepreneur and businessman. He used his wealth to create the Robert Cuhrch Park, among other facilities, for the black community. There was once an auditorium in Church Park, but it is memorialized today by two rows of concrete columns. To learn more see Memphis: An Architectural Guide by Eugene J. Johnson.
