Abstract
This image shows a mosaic in the narthex of the Hagia Sophia. The mosaic shows Christ sitting on a throne with Emperor Leo VI at his feet. The Virgin Mary and Gabriel appear behind Christ. This mosaic dates from the 9th century and it was photographed in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2011.
