Abstract
General Description: This is a red and green drum with a carved flower design. The design is carved on both sides, however only one side is painted. The handle is carved and there is a moveable ball in the center of the handle. The carving of the handle could represent two dragons with their mouths touching, the loose ball in between them. There are two small green balls on both sides that could be the eyes. A tag reads "Wooden temple drum, Japanese". On the bottom there is a cut out that divides the drum into two halves, though does not go all the way through.
Condition Description: On the side that is without paint there is significantly more wear. There are small chips in the wood and in the paint throughout.
