Abstract
This is an acrylic painting of cicadas in different stages of development placed in the center of the composition as changes go from bottom to top. It is made of various tones of gray, yellow, and red on masonite board. In the bottom left corner there are multiple small splatter stains. Stains are also seen along the edges of the piece. There are also black marks on the piece that seem to be graphite and indicate damage. The frame is metallic and silver. On the front in the bottom right reads "ireland" in gray. On the back in the top left corner in red marker reads "89.32", the top right has a white yellowing sticker that reads, "#2 CICADA CYCLE/ Acrylic on Masonite". The middle in the center stamped in yellow ink reads "PRODUCT OF / MASONITE / RESEARCH" and another stamp that reads "E-TEMP / MADE IN U.S.A." In the bottom right that reads on a silver sticker " PROPERTY OF / SOUTHWESTERN AT MEMPHIS / N.O. 13139".
