Abstract
The construction of the Pink Palace Museum began in 1922, and it was meant to be a mansion for Clarence Saunders. After Saunders lost his fortune, the Pink Palace was donated to the city, completed, and opened as a museum in 1930. The Pink Palace is located at 3050 Central Avenue in the Chickasaw Gardens area. The Pink Palace is made of pink Georgia marble. There are several dormer windows and windows with fanlights. There are a few strip windows. There are several arches, some of which are blind arches. There was a second building added on in 1977. There are many leaded glass windows, all of which feature fanlights. There is a jerkinhead roof. The building is in a Gothic Revival architectural style.
