AME, CME Conferences Close Successful Meetings; Few Changes In CME's The AME Annual Conference that convened at Warren Chapel AME Church, 6th at Chestnut Street, with its opening session on October 23, closed what many of the officials said was a very successful meeting Sunday. October 22 with Bishop Clayborn reading the appointments. Many prominent ministers and laymen graced the platform during the conference with the highlight sermon by the bishop Sun, day. The dramatic moment of the conference was the reading of appointments by the bishop Sunday afternoon which were as follows: Rev. A. F. Davis, who for many ytars petered the leading church of the district. Warren Chapel, was relieved of his pastoral duties and made Presiding Elder of the North Chattanooga District and one Rev. Green of Lexington. Kentucky. was appointed new pastor of Warren Chapel. Rev. E. M. Martin was reassigned to the pastorate of St. Paul on Williams Street. Rev. Harris was reappointed to Allen Temple on East Fourth Street. Reverand Toombs was transferred from Quinn Chapel to St. Paul in Fayettesville. Tennessee. Rev. Reid was transferred from Bethel. Walker Avenue to Bethel, Knoxville, Tennessee. Rev. T. Gene West, former Presiding Elder of the South Chattanooga District, was made pastor of Bethel. Rev. P. D. All of these students have no academic grade less than "B" and no conduct grade less than "A". Those with all "B's" as academic grades are included in the "B" and some "A's" for academic grades are included in the "Better" group. Those having all "A's" as academic grades are placed in the "Best" group. Bernard Wilson Has Birthday Fete On Sunday, October 28, Bernard Wilson, Jr., the son of Sgt. and Mrs. Bernard Wilson. Sr., was given a birthday party at their home at 834 Pendleton. Bernard is in the eighth grade at Melrose High School. Decorations included candles, balloons and fall flowers.
