Once again I must come from below to tell you what's happening I am not really surprised at some of the things I can cover with my eyes and the pulling curve of my tail. Yet let it be known that I know the uncertainty of human affairs, but I see clearly, through this day's business. With my eyes alone I can see for miles and miles around things that you thought could never exist in the life of man. Yes, I am just that smart. You must remember I attend Douglass High. I'm reminding you, you, and you not to forget the Douglass and Melrose game Thursday Nov. 27, 1952. Thursday Nov. 27, 1952 is the day that we all must be thankful for something. Some people actually don't know what this day means, but to Douglass it means plenty. It means so much to us until it takes the whole 366 days of the leap year to give thanks for the many blessings we have received. We are thankful for our wonderful principal, J. D. Springer; the building that is completed and the one that is to be completed; we are thankful for the faculty members and their splendid co-operation; then there's the beautiful playground that we so dearly love; still there's the class mates we are in debt to, and so many other things that we have to be thankful for. Yet there aren't words to express the sincerity of our feelings for being able to share these blessings, not only with our fellow-classmates, but with everyone, with whom we have come in contact. We can never repay the many blessings that we have received. Then we must make mentions of the civic club for taking actions in getting the streets repaired. Then too, we must thank the city construction company for co-operating. No longer will we walk on muddy roads, but we soon hope to be walking on paved avenues. Old Satan doesn't have much to say for he has been on the good side of every one this week. Listen Fred-I heard you say you didn't want me to mention your name in my column anymore, but let me tell you something don't you ever do anything in the presence of Eye Spy or I'll print more next time. I don't want to set the world on fire, but Odessa N. and E. G. why can't you eat lunch on time? This note is about a young man that is rather smart and have become the editor of Douglas School Paper. I think once he tried to assist Mr. Jackson in conducting the band, but he had to give in. This young man is well known and has appeared in the Snob columns. He is also a representative from his class for the Student Council. He is Mr. X you name him. THE WONDER OF THE MONTH Among all the ugly mugs of the world we see now and then a face made after the divine, pattern; Then a wonderful thing happened to us; the Blue Bird sings, the golden splendour shines, and for a queer moment everything seems meaningless save our impulse to follow these fair forms, to follow them to the clear paradise they promise. I have never seen a beautiful young lady both externally as well as internally, but we can get so close until we can pick them out even at Douglass. I think this is enough said for miss Edith Green of Douglass High, congratulations. Hamilton and St. Augustine ended their season of fine football. The game was played at Booker T. Washington's stadium Friday night. The score was 13-0 in favor of St. Augustine. The B. T. W. Red Cross members held their meeting Friday afternoon Mr. Nat D. He is also a representative from his class for the Student Council. He is Mr. X you name him. I have never seen a beautiful young lady both externally as well as internally, but we can get so close until we can pick them out even at Douglass. BIOGRAPHICAL HIGHLIGHTS BY JOE KNOW Earline Harris ...... is Ora Lee Ingram trying to move in on you and James Butler? ...... you could let him make the decision, but perhaps you prefer making the tentative decision or should it be permanent as related to your state of think ing. Clara Staples, who is the fellow you're always talking with and about to other people? ...... however, since you are making things of less importance known, why don't you make the most important thing known to all concerned ...... perhaps to the whole student body of the Manassas School .... or should it be just you and the party concerned. Sometimes it is wise to know that "Joe Know" will probably find out these things before you relate them to others and then it will be an added feature to this column. William Kinsey, when are you going to get into the know with the opposite sex? ...... Come now you have played Tarzan long enough, give with the jive and lets live a while with the light showing on the green from those that are frequently seen ..... see what I mean Mr. Jealous Beane. Mildred Harrington, don't let anything blow between you and Rufus Jones ...... not even the wind, for there has been a time that the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans could have passed between the both of you and neither of you would have frowned, but now that the scene is changed and the stage if fixed, perhaps this takes the abstract out of life ...... let us hope that this is a good picture. Mary (Hippodrome Dame) Beasley, are you still chatting with the fellow from B. T. W. ....... or does chatting makes you nervous or you would prefer a deeper conversation or a private wire with the Bell System for your "puppy Love Conversations" ...... until the end of time. Fay Mitchell is now soaring to higher fields of intimacy. She is supposed to be taking Elmer Shannon out of the life of Viola Hall, It is relative to the position of each to be the much admired challenges of the campus, but something on the other hand is buzzing in the wrong direction ...... which couple will catch the outlandish motive ...... look for me next week and I'll tell you what condition actually exists between the threesome. SOMEONE IS CONTINUING TO CALL WILLIE GREEN .... GREEN ...... and they say he is actually as green as his name sounds, perhaps he has not heard the orchestra play the wild and varied colors of their theme songs giving titles and paraphrases to colors in songs ...... come out GREEN ...... green is not a well matched title ...... make it blue and then you can rhyme it with true. Harriett Jackson, I know that you are a lucky girl to have a handsome guy like Logan Mitchell walking you home each evening, but what if someone else desires to take the initiative to follow suit. Ora L. Mitchell and Frank (Doc) Bailey have been growing fond of each other for the past few years, and somehow, they are beginning to grow like wild vegetables .... something in the ordinary. Desire Wade, does Raymond Robinson have your undecided love, or does Josh Dowell ....... tell me quick and tell me long, or perhaps, you will never tell me at all, but one thing that I am certain of and that is to know that you two are making the best of all things in the life of youngsters ...... wish you were here. Helen Cleaves, are you going straight to the square column or are you going to the arears of success ...... downward is a mistake and upward is a must, come let us get together and make life a bit more interesting for you. Charles Allen is so extremely lonesome for Ernestine Winfrey, also stands in that same category is Donald Perry and Haywood Harbert, who from time to time fight with themselves to keep out as much as they possibly can ....... give them credit. Floyd Swift, why don't you write Santa a line or two asking him to put into your "little bittle, sockum wockum a girlum" cause if you don't ...... you will be classed as a potential square and an outcast of Manassas Campus. Grace Hall, is life worth living with you ...... perhaps there is someone interested in making life with you pleasant, and maybe you are interested in the same, however, the only thing to do is to find some one interesting to take the sour cream out of your life and put a tiny bit of sugar into you to add color and much more harmony to the same academical race of living as set aside by the masters .... if Joe Know has seen this ...... let others see before "Joe Know" know that knowing is the best of all concerned ...... I mean you. Who's afraid of the "Big Bad Wolf,"? Don't be afraid of "Joe Know," for if he knows then it is time that all knows what is happening to Deloris Miller and William Washington. Everyday with their assembly in the same place the same time and the same things, usual mention will probably make the thing more interesting if each would change the place and the setting of the same "ole moon" with the unflavored atmosphere for a fine and uncultural courtship...... what is the latest happening in the COURT OF LOVE? EXTRA NOTICE ...... DELOTUS BONDS HAS MADE THIS STATEMENT ...... "Before. I become an Old Maide, I'll be buried in my grave right in the center of Handy Square. CLUB MEETINGS: BY JOE KNOW Earline Harris ...... is Ora Lee Ingram trying to move in on you and James Butler? ...... you could let him make the decision, but perhaps you prefer making the tentative decision or should it be permanent as related to your state of think ing. Nat D. Williams advisor, and Lawrence Ceymoure, president. The Student Council held their first meeting Friday. They elected the following officers: Lawrence Ceymoure, President, Betty Jean Coe, 2nd V. President, Logan Westbrook 3rd V. President, Julia Robinson.
