Boyd, Mattie M.2017-02-142017-02-142017-02-08http://hdl.handle.net/10267/28657This image was photographed and uploaded to DLynx in the Visual Resources Center during spring 2017.This is a digital photograph of Mattie Boyd's painting. It was submitted as the first critiqued assignment, "Photo-volution," on February 8, 2017 in Erin Harmon's Intermediate/Advanced Painting class. The artist's statement reads: "This piece was the start of a new lineage of work that further abstracted the figure from my previous works. In this painting, an array of globular alien like figures inhabited a space that was multi-planar yet flat. Elements of their environment were painted in either a similar or complimentary palette yet were depicted as being more angular and sought to contrast the figures. Despite the relationship between figure and environment, being unresolved this painting aided in solidifying my current artistic interest."en-USRhodes College owns the rights to this digital material which is made available for educational use only and may not be used for any non-educational or commercial purpose.
