Vessantara Jataka (old Buddhist story from India dealing with Last Previous Life of the Buddha). Old Brahnin, follows Prince Vessantara into jungle, meeting hunter on the way who loves Prince Vessantara and therefore tries to keep beggars from him. The hunter feeds Brahmin when he says he is an ambassador from Prince's village seeking his return home. The painting is held by a dark wooden frame.
