Abstract: This is a worn down, round coin dating from 253 to 268 CE. On the obverse is a radiate bust of gallienus facing right with the inscription "GALLIENVS AVG." On the reverse is an image of Pietas standing facing left by an alter with hands raised. There is an inscription reading "PIETAS AVG" as well as a "P" to the left of the figure.
Description: This coin was acquired by the College on March 23, 2015 as part of a donation by Auben Gray Burkhart, a longtime friend of the College. The coin was digitized and added to DLynx by the Visual Resources Center during summer 2016.
