Abstract: Thai, late 19th early 20th century. Vessantara Jataka (old Buddhist story from India dealing with Las Previous Life of the Buddha). Brahmin tells hermit (note his pet monkey) the same thing, and hermit directs him to the Prince. Central figure of man with long arm pointing left, suppliant figure before him and monkey behind him. There is a house in the background. The painting is held by a dark wooden frame. There is a sticker on the back of frame which shows, "78.0109 Thai Painting 19th-20th century Vessantara Jataka".
Description: This object was photographed and inventoried during summer 2017 by Jane Esklidsen '19 and Reagan Alley '18. It was uploaded to DLynx during fall 2018.
