Abstract: | This image is depicting a man excavating the bronze amphora from Lefkandi. The vessel is dark and filled with soil being excavated. The plaster that was used to stabilize the amphora for removal from site is still visible, as is the rope and soil around the amphora. This excavation seems to be taking place indoors, likely in a conservation lab, which is typical practice for excavating delicate vessels that may contain valuable objects. |
