Abstract
Description
This is an interview with George Lapides, a sports journalist and native Memphian who began his journalism career covering politics in the Memphis tri-state area. Inspired by the editor of the Press Scimitar and Commercial Appeal to go into journalism, he explains the experiences that accompanied his move into sports journalism and the stories he covered during the Civil Rights era.
