Abstract
General Description: This medal commemorates the 450th anniversary of the death of Michelangelo and was presented on Saturday, October 25th 2014 on the occasion of the conference, Michelangelo: Nuove proposte di lettura, organized by Casa Buonarroti Foundation, in the Cenacolo of Santa Croce. The medal was gifted in return for donations to fund the restoration of the Pazzi Chapel in Santa Croce in 2014.
Obverse Description: On the obverse is the Battle of the Centaurs, one of the earliest works of Michelangelo, housed in Casa Buonarroti with the inscription "NEL NOME DI MICHELANGELO, CASA BUONARROTI" (In the name of Michelangelo, Buonarroti House).
Reverse Description: The reverse shows the tomb of Michelangelo in Santa Croce with the inscription "A CCCCL ANNI DALLA MORTE DI MICHELANGELO, SANTA CROCE" (To450 Yearssince the Death of Michelangelo, Sante Croce).
