Abstract
The main objective for this course is to further critical thinking skills through the exploration and discussion of primary research literature, and to provide an opportunity to improve oral and written communication skills. The fundamental principle is for this course is to give you the tools that you will need for the next phase of your career. Thus, it will be structured very similarly to graduate seminar courses, where you are responsible for researching a topic and presenting it to your colleagues. You will become well versed in primary literature, and use empirical data to defend a hypothesis. In addition, this class is meant to be eclectic, drawing from many areas of research within Neuroscience. This course will also be challenging, as we will address how the biology of the brain may give rise to complex aspects of human nature.
