Description
Executive Secretary of Memphis NAACP from 1962 to 1995 Maxine Smith describes her extensive work with the NAACP and Shelby County Democratic Club. She recounts her upbringing in Memphis and encounters with leaders in the African American community and how these influenced her throughout her extensive career in activism.
