The purpose of the event was to bring people of various groups and cultures together to share a meal, conversation and entertainment. The theme was “Our Differences Are What Make Us Unique; Embracing Those Differences Is What Makes Us Strong.” Shelby County Mayor A C Wharton was the keynote speaker. Other special guests included Pablo Davis, Executive Director of Latino Memphis, and Cindi Elliot, Director of Cultural Diversity Education and the Cultural Diversity group at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.
